Alternative medicine? Herbal Medicine? HRT?

I have been searching the net for information on the best herbal equivalent to hrt. i have come up with a few... I am very interested in st johns wort but it says it can interfere with the pill, i am taking a form of the mini pill and want to know in what way it affects the pill. I am taking cerazette. Can i take more than one kind of herbal remedy without them interfering with each other. Please help. Thank you.

There are many alternatives to prescription medications. Black cohosh is traditionally used to treat symptoms like hot sweats. The St. Johns Wort is used to treat mood swings that can happen during menopause but yes you do have to be carefull if you are on other medictations. Your doctor can check for contraindications. Look for complexes that have red clover, vitex, sage, black cohosh and wild yam. These ingredients are common for helping with the symptoms associated with menopause. Other things that you can take on a daily basis for overall health are a good omega 3 fatty acid which can help with many things from mood to immune system, healthy hair skin and nails and joint health. There was one small contra-indicator indicating a warning of using medications with nutritional support, and it was "Do NOT take medications within three (3) hours of vitamins." The vitamins will walk the medications out of the body. The same for antibiotics. Always wait for several hours between each type of substances for them to work properly. You do have to educate yourself and listen to what your body is telling you. The body is a self healing, self repairing mechanism, if given the proper nutrition, proper rest, good air, good water and proper environment and support groups. ie; friends, and acquaintances.
