Is herbal medicine just as valuable as hospital medicine?

Short answer: No.

Longer answer: There has been some research into Herbal medicine and some compounds have been found to work. In fact Aspirin could be considered as a herbal remedy since it was first isolated from willow although now it is usually synthesised.

Germany actually has a register of herbal remedies including what they should be used to treat and what doses are appropriate. No where near as much time and money has been expended on herbal treatment assesment as has been on 'hospital' medecine so we are far more sure of how hospital medecine works than we are of herbal medecine. This does not mean that herbal remedies don't work, just that we don't know as much about how or if they work.

most herbal medicine do not has as much side effect as hospital medicine,since they are made from plant,at time they are better than hospital medicine.The Indian and Chinese has been using them for centuries as compare with modern medicine

there are so many herbal medicines which have great benefits to a person..the key thing is that there are rarely any short or long term side effects

More valuble, though of course aloepathic medicine has its place

the real answer is nobody really knows. Can we really trust what drug makers say?? after all if we started using herbs for treatment that would affect their billion dollar industry...I take herbs for many things, and they work great. Until enough private research is done we wont know that answer....
