Is herbal medicine reliable?

for my ap project

Any treatment is only as reliable as the diagnosis and remedy choice. But, if you take away human error, when diagnosis and herbal decision is correct and prepared/applied properly, it is reliable. That is why people who don't know should consult professional herbalists.

Here is more info about herbs:

Personal experience - we use herbs here, but our favorite is Mullein http://www.ashtreepublishing.com/Book_Ci...
It is great during cold and flu season, and has been known for centuries for many healing properties. We were introduced to it when our vaccinated daughter contracted whooping cough (along with the whole vaccinated population in our area). An herbalist made her mullein tea by dropping fresh leaves in a canning jar and covering with hot water for about 10 minutes. It calmed her cough, and she really liked the taste too. We've been using it since.

Yeah, it totally is, just don't forget where you put your bong

It works for some people.

Not always....They do work out sometimes as they did in olden times...Is guess to go 4 a MAY BE...Noo

No, im afraid it does not work. We all know this because it has been dissaproved by the FDA. We all know the FDA is absolutely correct and trustworthy right? You are much better off paying for prescriptions from a qualified pharmicy like everybody else.

Herbal products are more for keeping one healthy rather than curing a sickness. They are not very useful for acute conditions. They are useful for chronic conditions, especially geriatric related.
They have limited use with bacterial infections, though some of them do much better than allopathy on viral problems.

Yes, totally!

I'm self-treating my depression with 5htp instead of the prescribed rot that the doctor gave me! I had too many side-effects from it so I withdrew and started on the 5htp - NO depression at all now for 7 months, no side-effects and it's even gotten rid of my pms.

I've also gotten rid of my chronic fatigue problems which were badly affecting me by using Rhodiola Rosea (Siberian Golden Root)....it's fantastic! I feel 100% better and even my husband takes it now.

I don't know where I'd be without either of these two herbal supplements. The doctor hasn't been able to help me for years, yet a trip to my local health food store has been one of the best things I've ever done!

The better the quality and the more you know about them YES.

For example, you can't just say I am going to take green tea and expect it to fix a problem. It is good to find out all the other things that optimize each other. For example if you take calcium you need to take magnesium.
Then the other day I found out that my right sided headaches switched to the left side for the past month. I thought that was strange. I had been taking antioxidents because I felt that I was heading for a stroke with the right side headaches and feeling it was due to lack of oxygen to the brain.
I looked it up and found out that it had switched to the left side because I was now getting too much oxygen.....so now I have to switch my vitamins accordingly.

If an AP project, you will need to research some herbs to discover how well they work and what side effects they have. Ask your teacher or school librarian to help you find resources.

Do some real work and learn something instead of fobbing your homework off onto Yahoo answers.
