Hepatitis.. Can a dog transmit this to its owner? |
New dog just adopted. Only had the dog a few hours before she bit the owner and drew blood. Within a few hours the owner had flu like symptoms that manifested into severe flu like sx and has now tested positive for hepatitis C. I have read that dogs and cats can have hepatitis but I cannot find if it can be passed to humans. no, a dog cannot have hepatitis c. your friend somehow contracted hcv in the many ways hcv can be passed, but only by direct blood to blood transmission. your welcome! treat hcv as an "auto-immune disease" and the advice given ie, the other answer and you should be able to help! antidepressant and anxiety a month prior to treatment and lots of water during if she decides to treat! :o) Report It *an anti-anxiety along with antidepressant. Report It INFECTIOUS CANINE HEPATITIS I don't think dogs can even get Hepatitis C. Just Canine Hepatitis. Hepatitis C is a human disease and is only transmitted by a blood to blood contact. |
