Hepatitis b or hepatitis c?

witch of the hepatitis viruses are the worst to have?

Usually Hep C (HCV) because most people (85%) who get it go on to have chronic lifelong infection unless they are successfully treated. Conversely, most people who get Hep B (HBV) clear it through their own body's immune response (85% or so). However, for the few who do have HBV as a chronic illness, it also can lead to cirrhosis, liver cancer, and/or the need for transplantation. There is a vaccine for HBV, but none for HCV. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

By the way, HBV is transmitted through bodily fluids and blood to blood contact. It can live outside the body for up to 14 days. HCV is transmitted through blood to blood contact only and can live outside the body for up to 4 days. Razors and toothbrushes should not be shared, as microscopic viral particles can survive on these tools. There are many other risk factors. Check out http://www.hcvadvocate.org and http://www.hbvadvocate.org for risk factors and lots of other information.
