Hepatitis C.?

For the last 3 years I knew I had HIV but I just found out that I have Hepatitis C. Is there any way I can get rid of the Hepatitis? On top of that, 10 years ago I was diagnosed with Lupus.

It really sounds like you've been having quite a rough time with health matters. I sure empathize with you. I've had numerous health issues, too.
There is a treatment for hcv (hepatitis c virus), and yes, the doctors are now using the word "cure." The treatment is interferon, most common type is "Pegasys," used in conjuction with Ribavirin. This is actually a low dose, long term, form of chemotherapy.
You will first need to find out your genotype, meaning which strain of the hcv you have and then if you decide to go on treatment, you will get a liver biopsy and based on the findings of genotype, you would go on treatment for either six months or one year.
I just completed one year of chemo for hcv and the virus has been undetectable in my blood since week twelve of treatment. In about two weeks I'll go in to get my three months past treatment test to make sure I'm still undetectable. If I am still undetectable at one year past treatment, I will be cured!

There is a treatment for Hep C that can potentially cure it or put it into remission. Once you have Hep C you will always test positive for it even if its not active. The treatment is Ribovirin which is a pill taken 2x a day and interferon an injection taken 3x's a week. The treatments last for 1 year. See a gastroentologist for more information. Good Luck
