Viral hepatitis question?

So my doctor said that I have a type of viral hepatitis because my liver enzymes are out of wack or something...he said my body will just take care of it eventually. My question is, what type of hepatitis do I most likely have and is it possible that I might have given it to my boyfriend when we had sex?

I asked my doctor if I had hepatitis and he was like welll....you have an inflammation of the liver which is pretty much a viral hepatitis...

I don't think he knew what he was talking about.

your doctor should rule out as to "which" type of hepatitis you have!
hepatitis a is from fecal contaminated food (food poisoning) which is not contagious through sexual intercourse.
hepatitis b is a DNA viral infection which is passed through any bodily fluids-including sexual intercourse
heaptitis c is an RNA viral infection which is only passed through contaminated blood. it is not sexually tranmitted as hcv corpuscles are only parts of the viron and are dead-repeat, it is not transferred through anything but blood.
hepatitis d-you will not have this unless you have hepatitis b-it does not appear on it's own.
hepatitis e is rare in the united states and is spread similar to hepatitis a-neither one are sexually transmitted.

any other form of hepatitis is usually caused by genetics such as autoimmune hepatitis. other forms are NASH.
sometimes hepatitis c is brought on by mononucleosis as well as other diseases.

my suggestion is to get antibody tests for hepatitis b and c.
everyone has at least one risk factor for both types of hepatitis.

good luck

i made an error....i meant to say things like mononucleosis can bring on hepatitis, not hepatitis c....

good luck and feel well soon! Report It

Ask your doctor.

i don't know whether you have hepatitis A, B C or E but you surely infect your boyfriend if you don't practice safe sex. it can be transmited by razor blades, tooth brushes, transplants, unsterilized needles, tatoos, piercings and by all the things that have came in contact with infected bood.
So be very carefull, you don't want to cause pain to those you love.
USE CONDOMS!!!
