Dating with hepatitis?

My mom started liking this guy who has acute hepatitis (he has to take injections everyday). She had hepatitis c but she doesn't have it now. How could they date?

By the grace of God she doesn't have it anymore. She went for a check up and it was completely gone. No traces whatsoever. And it's not just sex. Most dating people like to at least kiss each other.

Hepatitis C is transmitted by blood to blood contact only. It is rarely transmitted through sex, so dating is not a problem, especially since both parties know what it's like to have hep c.
HCV is not transmitted by casual contact. Her boyfriend does not have acute HCV, by the way. If he is taking interferon injections for his treatment, he has chronic hep c.
As for clearing the virus without any medication, about 15-20% of people who become infected clear the virus through their own immune system's response. She is very fortunate. Best wishes to your mom, her boyfriend & you.

I don't really know. but they could be friends.

is sex really that important when it comes to your life?
I bet if she wrote a letter to Pamela Anderson, she would give her some advice.

Hep C isn't curable, how doesn't your mom still have it? As for the real question, they would both have to be really careful about the whole "loving" part of their relationship. It doesn't sound like a good combo though, no offense.

You haven't said which hepatitis the gentleman has so what I can tell you is limited. Hep C is rarely transmitted through sex. It's blood-bourne. Hep B is transmited by blood and sex.

How could they date? Easy. Your mom understands what this guy is going through and having had hepatitis herself is more accepting of him than many others would be.... and that's includes you. It's wonderful of her to give him the support he needs. If the relationship becomes romantic, there are condoms.

By the way, combination therapy can get rid of the virus (That's right, get RID of it) in 5 out of 10 people with genotype 1 and in 8 out of 10 people with genotypes 2 & 3. So if you say your mom no longer has hep C, I believe you. And she should be vaccinated against hep B.

I know you're worried but just share your concerns with her. She'll appreciate it and can take that opportunity to reassure you.
