If someone who has Hepatitis C does that mean their liver is functioning 100% Like someone who doesnt have it? |
Lets just say Jessica has Hepatitis C and Martin doesnt. Since Martin's Liver is functioning 100% because he doesnt have Hepatitis C. Well since Jessica has Hepatitis C does that means her Liver will function just like Martin's Liver. Please help by explaining it. No, Hepatitis C makes the liver not to function properly, so in the case you are proposing, Jessica's liver is sick and therefore her liver is not functioning in 100% metabolically, it's damaged by the hepatitis virus so it can't function properly like Martin's liver which doesn't have the virus for Hepatitis C. You are welcome. Report It The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. The symptoms can be medically managed, and a proportion of patients can be cleared of the virus by a long course of anti-viral medicines. Although early medical intervention is helpful, people with HCV infection often experience mild symptoms, and consequently do not seek treatment.[ Hepatitis is inflamation of the liver. Hep C is inflamation of the liver caued by a virus. In its initial stages I would imagine it would have little impact on liver function but as time passes it would run your liver down and affect its ability to function. Fortunatly there are medications that can help. |
