Cure for Hemorrhoids?

I went to visit my parents the other day and my mom said she was uncomfortable because she had Hemorrhoids! Naturally I laughed but then she said that my step-dad said that Rubbing vicks(stuff you rub on your chest when you have a cold) ON your butthole it works better then any kind of Hemorrhoid cream. Does anyone know if this is true? Do you think it would burn ? And, be honest, who would actually try to see if it works?

I am not looking for a cure. I am looking to see if anyone else would try this home remedy.....

OUCH - yes that would burn from the menthol.

Over the counter creams are not as potent as prescription cortisone creams. That is the best option.

Generally hemorrhoids do not hurt much, unles they have been torn. Somtimes, a tear at the opening, called a fissure, can be very painful.

If they continue to cause pain, she really should go to see the physcian, to determine if it is the hemorrhoid, a fissure or a growth that is causing pain.

Of course, vicks will burn. & you have stated a very sensitive area to be using vicks on. You joker you.

This complaint sometimes requires surgery. An appointment with the doctor would be appropriate.
