if someone has hemorrhoids removed by rubber band ligation and the rubber bands come off hours later and are in excruciating pain . is it ok to just leave them and they will get better or will they get worse they are bleeding still and it has been 2 days and still in major pain wasn't given anything for the pain and if it is just left then how long should this pain last for. had 2 colonoscopies done and both times for nothing first time could't find anything second time rubber bands came off 8 hours after the surgey felt most of the procedure exscruciating pain so he refuse to have it done a 3rd time wich after what he just went trough i wouldn't either. thanks for everyones answers :):):) He phoned the emergancy room this morning and they told him they couldn't tell him anything over the phone that he would have to wait to talk to his doctor tomorrow he has to have a warm soak every 30 min pretty much he is in a lot of pain and can not drive to the hospital and he is worried all they will tell him they have to re do the procedure ans he refuses to have it done again he has been in so much pain since he had it done 2 days ago and today he feels ill Hi, I am an RN. Since you've had problems with the rubber band ligation, I would talk to a doctor about another form of treatment/removal, since this one obviously isnt working for you. You can contact your local emergency department by phone and speak to a nurse and see what his/her opinion is. depending on how long the bands have been on before they came off, it may be wise to go to the emergency room. You may have necrotic flesh in there, and if that gets into your bloodstream, you'll have yourself a nasty case of blood poisoning...(i.e. gangrene). he needs to be seen by a doctor very soon, more for the pain than anything.... hope he feels better soon, in the meantime if he can`t see a dr straight away run him a cool salt bath and sit in that , but please seek medical attention I don't know anything about the ligation procedure. But I will suggest a trick that appears to work: Distended hemorrhoid veins are caused by blood clots. What common and inexpensive medicine has known anti-clotting properties? Aspirin, of course, so try taking the maximum standard dose of the stuff and see what happens. I would appreciate comments from anyone who tries this and can report results. |
