when you have a fever, why is it important to increase oral fluid intake?
also, why is it recommended to eat no dark colored foods in dengue hemorrhagic fever patients...? pls help...

When you are ill or have a fever it is important to increase oral fluid intake, As the body sweats it can dehydrate if the fluid levels drop to low, Which can cause the patient s body to shut down
With dengue hemorrhagic fever usually the patient can`t eat due to nausea, vomiting, so supplementation with intravenous fluids is recommended,The type of food they could eat if they can would not matter except they have sever diarrhea

Clear liquids cleanse . Fluids will flush out whatever is causing the fever .If you ever heard the term to sweat it out you need lots of clear liquids (water)being the best. If you drink dark drinks or foods they tend to weigh down in the body instead of passing freely as a clear liquid can.
