Are there females alive who have hemophilia?

I heard that hemophilia only happens in men, because if it happens in a female, the baby is miscarriaged. (forgive my spelling)

normally females carry the gene for hemophilia and males are the ones who have it. a female can have hemophilia but its rare

Women carry the gene but men get the disease. Go figure.

My good friend carries the gene of hemophilia - however for her entire life she never really bled extremely badly. Recently, she had a son. He has the disease very severely. He must take medication every day. She did not miscarriage with him. She also is having another baby boy as we speak and is going to give birth soon. She did miscarriage several times between these two boys, but she did manage to give birth.
She learned that boys have a much larger chance of having it if a parent has it.
Through, one person's experience doesn't mean it is the norm. But I just wanted to try to answer your question.
