Tests to identify hemophilia?

An aPTT (activated partial thromboplastin time) will be abnormal. After that, a factor VIII level or assay will be done and be shown to be abnormal if it is hemophilia A. If it is hemophilia B, a factor IX level will be reduced. The severity of the hemophilia (mild, moderate or severe) will be decided by whether the level is depressed to 5-30% normal, 1-5% of normal, or <1% of normal. http://health.yahoo.com/blood-diagnosis/...

There are also in utero (during pregnancy) genetic tests that can be done on a fetus, but they are not recommended if there is no willingness to terminate the pregnancy. http://www.hemophilia.ca/en/2.1.6.php
