Why is BP and temperature checked before and after performing hemodialysis?

Why is BP and temperature checked before and after performing hemodialysis?

Because they are rapidly taking fluid off of the body and blood pressure can drop dramatically during the process.

During hemodilaysis a lot of excess fluid is removed from the blood, which can cause decreased blood pressure. It is checked before to make sure the blood pressure is not too low. Also temperature is checked to make sure the body temperature is adequate throughtout therapy. If it is increased, you could have an infection that needs to be treated.
