Helicobacter Pylori HELP!?

I just found out if have anti bodies for Helicobacter Pylori (H. pylori). was wondering what comes next. I haven't talked to my Doctor yet she is calling me back in a few hours. Is there any more test i need to take before i start treatment? Keep in mind i get seen at Kaiser

Helicobacter pylori usually causes a chronic infection that doesn't go away by itself. You need treatment to get rid of it.

And no test for Helicobacter pylori is 100% accurate. Even if you get a negative result for some other test. That result may be false negative.

A doctor usually uses more information than just the test results to decide whether treatment is needed or not. If you have symptoms consistent with H. pylori infection. And your antibodies test is positive. Then no further testing is needed because there are two pieces of information both consistent with each other.

I suggest that you trust your doctor and follow your doctor's instructions.

H. pylori is a bacteria found in your stomach that under certain circumstances can lead to ulcers. Your doctor will probably treat you for that and put you on a special diet that cuts down on things like caffeine and spicy foods amongst other things that are hard on your stomach. There is medication you can take that will help with your stomache issues and things like Pepto or Milk of Magnesia can soothe some of the discomfort.

First, there should be some differentiation of IgG vs. IgM levels to distinguish a current infection from past exposure. It's usually treated with antibiotics, assuming they have evidence of an active infection. If they absolutely *have* to confirm an ulcer, they would need to do an endoscopy - it's uncomfortable but usually an outpatient procedure. Given Kaiser's reputation for being cheap, however, I doubt they'll do that.
