My Mom's health.... :((( Please help me. I'd really appreciate it, please. i dunno what to do.?

hey, guys. my Mom has this problem. Her hands and feet are very dry, she has Helicobacter Pylori and maybe that's why her hands and feet's skin is getting off and it's as hard as tree roots. She has tried lots of hand creams but none is helping. I'm really scared and I don't know what to do. Her H.Pylori treatments don't seem to help and I feel so bad about this I don't know what to do. Her hands used to be like some kind of silk and now they're scaring me. Please help. I'd appreciate it from really deep inside. And she says she feels as though I will help her. I'm only in my mid-teens.

H. Pylori is generally intestinal/stomach and I don't really think its the problem with the hands.

However, the reason why she has a H Pylori infection and why her skin is messed up, may be the same thing.

H. Pylori infections can run rampant sometimes if there is an underlying condition attributing to it (which generally there is). Such as Diabetes, Food Allergies, Thyroid problems, and even some digestive disorders.

Some medications can also be causing the hard dry skin problems, and she should address this with her doctor to make sure the meds she's on for the H. Pylori aren't complicating matters.

I'd really recommend that she talk this over with her doctor, to make sure nothing else is wrong. Her Doctor may recommend a dermatologist if its needed.

In the meantime, you might want for her to try cotton gloves and socks at all possible times. Keep hand washing to a minimum (ie wear gloves to do dishes, etc.. but always wash after toilet) and moisturize with a quality moisturizer such as eucerin, then put on the cotton gloves (usually can be found in the beauty/cosmetics section) to seal in the moisture. Also wear the socks/gloves to bed at night after putting on a new layer of moisturizer.

did she actually go to the doctor? you can't do anything.

There is nothing you or anyone on the internet can do. Your mom needs to see her doctor and tell him/her that her treatment isn't working. You do have the right as a patient to get a second option, try having her see another doctor.

Did she ever try coco butter lotions and oils I found them to be the best! But if that doesn't help.. soaking in warm/hot salt water might help a little! Good Luck

since you know the name if the problem you can google it and maybe find something there. good luck

take her to the doctor.
and put veseline on her.

You're a very sweet daughter. Your Mom needs to see a dermatologist. Too bad it's the weekend. Maybe you should call her nurse, or a 24-hour nurse if you have one.
Better yet:
Call a pharmacist! Look in the Yellow Pages under Pharmacies, and find a 24-hour pharmacy. They are SO smart, kind and helpful. The pharmacist will guide you. You'll see. Good luck to you and your Mom. :)

Go 2 a different DR for a second opinion maybe the dr that shes seeing now can change her medication...
