If science were to treat most cancers as stemming from viruses/bacterias wouldn't...?

there be cures for most of them already?!

It's known that human papillomavirus (HPV) causes uterine cancer.

It is also known that Helicobacter pylori causes stomach cancer.

I've just come across an incredible (but extremely long) article which explains connection of an Acid-Fast bacteria in connection w/ prostate cancer! But cannot "link" it.

It's also known that the AIDS virus caused outbreak of rare form of cancer among gay men. So why doesn't science work more on these, instead of looking at the aluminum in deodorants; electricity; obesity; fat-filled foods; beer (yes beer); etc.?

I'm including these links; hope they work right.

statistical significance ,lung cancer and smoking, not all viruses or bacteria are associated ,before any long standing inflammtion was considered carcinogenic ,but look at immune diseases,no relation ,they direct according to exposure and disease,,

Clinical researchers ARE looking at the connection between cancer and infectious disease. However, this is only going to be helpful in the realm of prevention - prevent the disease, prevent the cancer that can potentially arise from it. If you already have cervical cancer, for instance, it has become a totally separate entity from HPV and Gardasil (or any other agent for treating a virus) is no longer effective.

Cancer is a family of incredibly complex diseases, especially in its causes. Scientists are exploring many avenues - biochemical, environmental, pathologic, etc - because most of the time we can't pin down a cancer's cause to single agent. It will take all the medical and scientific disciplines working together to eradicate cancer.

While it is known that certain viruses and bacterias cause cancer what isn't known is what triggers the cause. So you can have a virus (harmless) but exposure to aluminum could mutate it into a cancer causing virus. Could be that this and other metal exposure combined with a virus cause cancer. New science is finding links never thought of before; explaining why some people get cancer and others don't.

This theory has been around for a while, and while it's interesting, it really hasn't been proven. All cancers are caused by chronic irritation and tissue regeneration, such as smoke and/or asbestos (lung), radiation, poor diet (colon) AND certain viruses. I don't think viruses cause all cancers.
The weird thing about cancer is that it employs many strategies to try to stay alive and fool your immune system. If it was a simple genetic error why would that be? And if it's trying to stay alive, doesn't that mean it's trying to reproduce? (Yes, if you believe in the scientific definition of life).
