I've a pain at the side of my heel? |
It's been starting to hurt right at the back of my heel, just where the bone is? Not the bottom of the heel, but where the end of your shoe might be. I'll probably see a doctor soon, but was wondering if anyone's experienced this before. It's not caused by injury, ( i didn't fall or anything) maybe running a bit more than usual. Is there a common name for this kind of injury? It hurts when I first start to jog, but as I warm up it goes away and starts again after I cool down from the jog. Thanks for any replies. It's a tendon. It is probably rubbing on the fluid sack immediately behind that tendon. A friend of mine had this problem. Surgery is one way, but there is no guarantee that this would be a permanent fix. I know that from his experience. It might be as simple as the shoes that you wear on a regular basis. See a Podiatrist for this issue. heel spur? Growing pain? I have those often but not at my heels. it might be cuz you were high heels? i dunno, but get to a doctor soon and hope it isn't anything really bad. It could be a bone spur which is not uncommon & often times goes unnoticed until we do something that brings it to our attention ... like running more than usual or new shoes. It sounds to me like you are developing a heel spur. This condition is caused by calcium deposits that linger and attach to the bone instead of being circulated and destroyed by your body. Most spurs resolve themselves within a week or two. If you feel that it is not getting any better, please go see a podiatrist. I would suggest that in the interim you; lay off on the exersize a bit (friction can worsen the condition and inhibit healing), also wear open backed shoes or clogs, wear cushioned socks and try to stay off of it as much as you can. I'm no doctor, but it could be a strained tendon. In my case, such pains were caused by nerve damage in my lower back (degraded discs). Eventually got quite a bit of numbness in my left foot. Likely not your problem, but worth investigating. G'luck! bone spurs i suppose. or maybe plantar faciaitus |
