Ankle and heel pain when jogging?

I realise after just a few mins I started running, I will feel pain on my heels and ankles. I try to bear with the pain and continue running. Sometimes, it will go away. However, after I am done with my jog (2.4km), later in the evening or so, I will feel pain in my ankles when I walk, esp when i stand up and start walking after sitting down for a while.

Is it because my shoes are not good enough? I used to have a knee problem. I feel that my leg injuries are due to the fact that my feet and the way I land when i run are not "normal".

Besides that, are there other reasons for my ankle and heel pain?

Contact a orthopaedic supply shop and a technician can advise you on your shoes, running gait and possible solution to your problem. I did this to shortcut going to a doctor and was happy with the results. I am running/walking pain free now.

There could be a number of reasons for your pain. One being that your sneakers may not offer support. You could be lacking proper arch and ankle support. Another cause could be bone spurs. You should see your Dr. if the problem continues after you replace your shoes.
