Swollen ankle?

My ankle started hurting and became swollen overnight. I went to the doctor and had an x-ray. no fracture, no sprain, no injury that i am aware of, however the inside of my right ankle continues to have a swollen egg shaped section just below my ankle bone that reaches to the bottom of my foot and causes pain in my heel wether i have been on it alot or not. any ideas as to what may be the problem?

Try a shoe insert or buy better shoes.

You could also try one those ice/hot patches to relieve the pain or a simple bandage. Prop your ankle up at an angle for a few hours with a warm cloth or cold thingy.

If it continues to hurt or get worse, get a referral to see a foot doctor.

No offense, but you are in pain and it is obvious that your ankle is swollen. But did the doctor say anything else you can do?

The doctor didn't do anything else??? You need to go to another doctor. Could be a cyst or something more serious.

Your doctor needs to do more....

I have the same problem with my right ankle...im in constant pain but its taken the doctor 4 years to tell me that i have a bone 3cm out of place...and thats after god knows how many x-rays, MRI scans and being in a plaster cast!

If your doctor does nothing more then go up to casulty!

Take care and go easy on ur ankle...

It's ok, but it may also keep you from building muscle in your ankles by preventing some of the smaller movements that build muscle. In turn, that makes you more susceptible to injury.
