Is it all right to wear ankle braces on healthy ankles?

It might seem silly asking this but I like wearing ankle supports (the tube ones with the cut for the heel) because I feel assured if I actually injure them, they'll have the support waiting to help the injury from accelerating right away. But I also need to know if it's actually unhealthy to wear them if they aren't needed.

I'm asking if it's okay to go jogging in them?

It's ok, but it may also keep you from building muscle in your ankles by preventing some of the smaller movements that build muscle. In turn, that makes you more susceptible to injury.

The braces will weaken your healthy ankles, because the tightness reduces blood flow to that area. If those muscles aren't getting that oxygen, they will actually get weaker. Report It

Catspaw is right.

i wear them all the time (i'm reallllyy into sports) and yes, it's perfectly smart, and fine to do
