What did i do to my knee? PLEASE HELPPPP? |
i twisted my knee with a bent leg over a week ago. there was NO SWELLING at any time and after a few hours it didnt even hurt to walk. now the only time i feel it is if i try to squat my butt to my heels or pull my heel back to my butt. It hurts behind my knee and the most on the outside (lateral) part. i kno its not my acl because there was no pop. Please let me know if you have had a similar injury, and about how long it took to heal. thankssssssss a bunch The ACL is not the only ligament back there and it does not have to pop to be injured. Yes, it could also be a meniscus, but those usually hurt right from the start. I'm an expert on that pain after tearing three of my four. You could have torn the meniscus that cushions the bones. It may heal on its own, but most likely will have to be surgically repaired. You can try a knee support elastic brace for awhile, but best you see a doctor and get some Xrays. Does the pain seem to be around or under the knee cap and a dull ache?...If so its likely to be "Runner's Knee" which is a wearing away of the cartilage as the knee cap moves. However the body will repair this but can take a long time. |
