With a gunshot wound to the wrist, what sort of damage and long-lasting effect swould be expected? |
I am writing a story, and a character has sustained a gunshot wound to the right wrist just below the heel of the hand. The character is a doctor, and I've had little luck finding information on the web (I must be looking in the wrong area). Depending on the caliber of the gun you could get everything from complete loss of the hand down to minor bone damage and loss of feeling and flexibility. Depending on how bad you want to hurt the character you will need to be careful about how big the gun is that you shoot him/her with. A .22 will do little damage but a 44 magnum will pretty much take of the hand. |
