I broke a bone in my large toe and tore the ligaments very badly almost 10 years ago when I was 13. Then in college I refractured the same bone just by walking around in very high heeled shoes.
I have broken bones before but this break is extremely painful--10 times more than any other. I have constant pain and have tried many things like stretches and foot soaks. I figured because this is the only time I have torn ligaments in the area that perhaps that was the issue. The doctors have told me the pain would go away but I am still dealing with it 10 years later.
Has anyone else had a similar injury with ligament tears? What have you done to decrease the pain? Have you had an particular type of surgery that alleviated it? I can suggest you to use things like oragel since the benzacaine in it will numb you up and you will not feel the pain, the adult version of oragel is more concentrated and may help more, otherwise consider seeing a podiatrist who can recommend some special inserts for symptomatic relief, good luck |
