Are these Symptoms of heartburn? Help?!?

For the past 3 days I have been having what I think is heartburn. It is a burning in my throat and like a heaviness in my chest. When I take a deep breath in it feels like there is something in my throat and It feels like as I breathe in it slides down to my chest. I have been taking Rolaids, but they only work for an hour or two. I take four at a time. The only other time I've had heartburn was when I was pregnant with my daughter. I haven't been eating anything acidy or anything. Also I keep belching (sorry i know its gross maybe but I just want an accurate opinion.) Any information would be greatly appreciated! I also took Protonix for heartburn while I was pregnant. Any ideas on if this is heartburn or what I should do? Thanks so much!

At least part of this sounds like acid reflux disease, or GERD. That goes beyond simple heartburn. The valve at the bottom of the esophagus allows stomach acid into your throat, and you get burned. So it produces a lasting burn that does not go away from antacids.

It's pretty easy to diagnose, and pretty easy to fix especially catching it early.

sounds like heartburn...pepto bismol is the only thing that works for me....and drink lots of water.....if it gets really bad, lay on your side with one leg stretched out and the other pulled up against your chest.....i dunno why but it seems to help
