Melatonin and Heartburn?


Melatonin gives be bad heartburn. The doctor thinks there is no connection. But when I don鈥檛 take the melatonin I don鈥檛 get heartburn, very often. The doctor prescribed Prilosec. Yes, that helps. Any other ideas? How about a substitute for melatonin?

The melatonin I take is an extremely low dose, sublingual tab with no side effects. You own body produces melatonin, so I'm with your doctor on this one. I would look at other things associated with heartburn before I would equate the melatonin with heartburn. It's kind of like saying that you take melatonin and for some reason everyday you have to go to the bathroom.
