Why is this heartburn persisting? |
I have now have heartburn since Wednesday. Ok, actually, I think it started Monday night after I ate pork ribs for dinner. But, then the next day, I had pizza for lunch and since then, I had heartburn. It's now early, EARLY Monday morning and I've hardly been able to eat something all weekend. I think it's improved slightly but not enough where I can eat anything substantial or else I feel naucious. I've taken a couple of TUMS on Saturday and one last night. It's eased it but not entirely. I am so dying to eat a meal. I'm 26 male, weigh 176 and not overweight. Ok, only by a few pounds but hardly anything. I've only had this twice in my life and this is my third time. I keep getting a sour taste in my mouth and gurgling coming up my chest. Not often, but it happens enough that I know it's still there. The other two times I've had this were within the past couple of years. What should I do?! Thank you! The symptoms you describe could easily be caused by a hyetal hernia. See your doctor, and ask him/her. You need to take some tagamet aka cimetidine, zantac aka ranitidine or pepcid aka famotidine or prilosec OTC to help get the acid under control. You should also consider getting this checked by the doc as you might have a hiatal hernia causing it. See a Dr. You could have an ulcer or acid reflux disease. yep....sounds like you have acid reflux, but it doesn't sound unmanageable since you have only had it 3 times. I had it constantly when I was your age. . ..and I still have it! BUT, it's important for you to see a doctor to confirm it. There are things YOU can do do minimize reflux which is sometimes referred to as "gerd" Avoid: |
