To All the Cardiologists Out There -?

I was born with congenital heart disease - Ebsteins Anomaly - (ASD and deformed tricuspid valve) - 1989 I had OHS where the hole was closed and the valve reconstructed. Lately, I have become quite tired, and after having a echocadiograph, found my heart has become enlarged due to the valve not closing properly and extra pressure now placed on my heart. My average heart rate is about 40 bpm and cardiologists do not want to operate on the valve again because it is too dangerous. Only when it begins to fail will they do something. Is it true that doctors don't like to operate on the tricuspid valve or should I be getting a 3rd opinion?

It is seen that you are suffering from Bradycardia and Valvar(Valvular) cardiomyopathy. It is seen that bradycardia can be corrected by pacemaker. The dilatation of the heart decreases the efficiency of pumping. Cardiomypathy leads to heart failure. Since the tricuspid valve is not closing properly, there will be regurgitation of blood from right ventricle to right auricle. Is it not possible to fix artificial valve in the place of tricuspid valve if it could not be repaired (tricuspid atresia) or whether your health condition is not satisfactory to undergo a major operation? Get a third medical opinion from a famous cardiologist of your country.
Please note that I am not a medical professional.

Please do contact a doctor who knows about nutrition.
Maybe DR.Raystrand.

It is true that they do not like to operate on ANY heart valve.

Whether you get a 3rd opinion or not will depend on you and how much it is affecting you.

If the tiredness is a real bother, you should pester the doctors you have seen already and if they still refuse then you need to talk to someone else.

However, open heart surgery is a big operation and is life threatening. The replacement of a valve has long term consequences which I am sure you are familiar with. In some instances you may be on anticoagulation for life.

Please weight this all up and work out for yourself if you want this valve fixed.
