I have sharp like knife pains in my chest that just last seconds then go away then come back....is this normal |
It is very sharp pains in my chest.....I was born with heart disease, but didn't think that the valve problem I was born with could cause this.....could this be something else? First because you know that you have a heart condition you should have a doctor's advice. Otherwise if it is in the breast bone area it might be a 'button' slightly out of place. The 'joint' where the ribs connect to the breast bone can cause sharp pain that is short lived. Also sharp pain in the side can be mussel cramps. I get both every so often and it makes breathing deeply difficult until it passes. Again anything that might be a heart problem please have checked out. Silent heart attacks are more common than you and me would like. It could be just gas in your upper G.I. tract but be safe -- go see your doctor. Could be something more serious. No, that isn't normal. Having any kind of "heart condition" is what we medical professionals call a co-morbidity. It means any factor that could lead to or cause a particular symptom. There are multiple causes for "chest pain" gas, hiatal hernia, pleursy, cracked rib, gall bladder problems, and the list goes on. Your best bet would be to tell your MD, and or consult with a cardiologist, if anything, just to rule out heart involvment. Good luck!! |
