Heart surgery fear? |
I'm 20 and I have lots of heart problems that I was born with, I've had lots of heart surgery in the past, and I have a pacemaker and will have more surgery in the future. Sometimes I get depressed about my situation, I wish I was just healthy and didn't have to deal with this. I'm also afraid of the surgeries to come and anything that might happen. What should I do? Sounds like you have been through alot. You have been strong in the past & come through the others just fine so keep that in mind while you are facing this. Praying may help you find inner peace. I wish I could take the fear away for you. I will say a prayer for you. xo keep in touch with freinds and family for suport. my mom has a metal valve in her heart and i know that she needs more surguries done. all u can do is hope and pray for the best. good luck to u It's really very annoyimg, but try to think that we have very good surgeons in here, and all operations go well. i suggest getting your heart rate up by exercising. i also had heart surgery when i was little. and im pretty sure its not going to be my last surgery. dont worry about it. thing that are ment to happen will happen. and dont think you cant do stuff like run long distances just because of your heart problems. and be sure to eat healthy and not too much artery (spell check) clogging foods and NEVER EVER smoke or be around someone who smokes. that parts hard for me because my dad smokes ALOT. well he used to smoke more but now he doesnt do it so much in the house. long time ago he used to do it like around me. but not really anymore. I feel for you and can understand why you feel this way, but please don't feel like you are alone. My niece is 26 and was born with Marfans, it affects the skeletal system , the heart, she is legally blind, has had numerous surgeries and probably will not live to see 50, her mother, my sister died at the age of 44 w/same disease. Just appreciate each day as you awaken to it. Be grateful that you are in a situation where you have access to medical care and count your blessings, i.e. the people in your life that love you. I wish you well and hope that your health improves. I will keep you in my prayers. |
