Heart surgery such as bypass etc.? |
I saw a question about defribllirators and one of the answers prompted my question. The Yahoo user stated in the answer that DC current is used to stop the heart for surgery and AC current is used to start it again. My question is: if they do this, does the person have near death experience when they blast the AC current through (you know like for those that have been resucitated with a defribllirator)? Or are they so drugged up with the anaesthetic that they wouldn't know? The answers that you have already been given are correct. There are 2 ways of performing cardiac bypass surgery - either on a beating heart or by stopping the heart. The heart is stopped by either an electrical current or by giving high doses of drugs that will stop the heart. To restart the heart an electrical current - defib, will then restart the heart. I have never been told by a patient that they felt that they had had a near death experience, but I suppose that it could be possible. In the UK a light anaesthetic is used so no near death experience. Any time you get such a procedure from the Allopaths, it is a "near death experience". Problems caused by lifestyle problems, cannot be "cured" by surgery, but can be ameliorated by changes in lifestyle. In this situation, near death experience is the least of your worries. |
