Children's hospital recommendation for open heart surgery?

A friend's son 3.5 years old - has been diagnosed with a rare heart disease. He will need to have an open heart surgery fairly soon, most likely within the next 2 weeks. Since this type of operation cannot be performed in Serbia, where he lives, we are looking for a hospital in Europe or USA where this can be done.
I would like to ask you if you know by any chance what would be the best children's hospital for this kind of surgery, or if you know anyone who has a child and had a similar procedure done. We are recommended some hospital in London, but I'm looking for alternatives in the rest of Europe (Germany, France, ...) and in the USA.

childrens Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo, my son had to have open heart surgery at 5 1/2 months old, hes now 9 1/2 years old, & going strong. The best I can say is read it up on line, look at the diffrent childrens hospitals there is, but I will say St. Judes is ONLY for cancer patiens , they dont help in in the heart area, unless its cancer related.

Alos go through Childrens Mircale network, talk to them, they can help you too. If it wasnt for the chidlrens hospital near us, & the Childrens miricale network, my son would never be here.

Try St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennesseee at www.stjude.org.

Childrens Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, USA cured both of my brothers from cancer.

DeVos Childrens Hospital in Grand Rapids Michigan is a top childrens hospital in the entire world.

I wish i could help, but i am not sure. I would say St. Jude hospital in USA.

Well if you were to look at another country, Canada, I suggest the Toronto SickKids Hospital. To quote,
"SickKids is one of the largest and most respected pediatric academic health science centres in the world. We are known around the world for our excellent patient care, carrying out leading-edge research, and teaching and training the health-care workers of tomorrow."
Good luck and best wishes to the little guy whatever you choose.

Children's Hospital Boston - It's one of the top children's hospitals in the country.

Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio (USA) has an outstanding pediatric cardiology department. I'd recommend looking into that.
