Suggestions needed for recooperating from Open heart surgery.?

I just came home yesterday from Having a triple Bypass Surgery on my Heart. No warning at all.
I am wondering what others have done to pass the time, Also for excercise because I seem to find anything at all so painful to do. I am only 45.

Glad to hear you're home - I hope if they let you leave the hospital thing must be going well?

I'm near Rochester so, I know getting outside isn't an excellent option right now. Did your doctor(s) have you schedule any kind of physical therapy? If not I would ask if they would - but make sure your insurance covers it (I hope that's not an issue.) Physical Therapists are much more than just for ankles and sore backs. You may only have to go a couple times to get evaluted and get a plan in place that matches your current physical strength and endurance - and of course takes in to account your recent heart surgery.

Try to get out and get fresh air though - and walk - but only where it's dry so you don't fall - and carry a cell phone just in case ... if you don't have one - get a TracFone from Walmart or their website. Just get the cheapest one you can with 20 minutes of talk time - and carry it everywhere - only for emergencies.

Stay positive and try to follow doctors orders - eat what they say, get as much sleep as you can - and the exercise will come along (see a PT if possible) - good luck!
