I am looking for possible sponsors for the open heart surgery of my 3yr old daughter. Pls help me...?

She was diagnosed of moderate to severe stage of subvalvar pulmonary stenosis and recently it got complicated it was found out that her pulmonary artery has gone narrow. therefore she needs the surgery as soon as possible. I cannot afford to pay for the operation as i am only a clerk in a private company and i am separated. i wanted my daughter to live long and have a normal life. she will die if not operated. her heart has enlarged due to over work as it pumps harder than the normal effort inorder to pump oxygenated blood pass through the obstruction to the lungs. the heart will give in if the condition is not treated. pls do extend your help. my daughter is all i have... she is my life.....

You could try having a fundraiser. I know that in my area, its not that unusual to see flyers posted for spaghetti dinners, golf tournaments, poker tournaments, and other events to raise money to assist with a person's medical expenses, etc.

You mentioned that you're separated...even though you're separated from him, he still does have obligations towards your daughter (making the assumption that he's her father). You should not have to shoulder the financial burden entirely on your own for this - if he's in a position to help, he absolutely needs to do so.

Have you checked into a children's hospital that is part of a teaching university? They help people like your daughter.

I wish that I could help you. Just be strong and cherish everyday that you have with your little one. God has a plan for everyone. Good luck with everything.

I suggest you contact St. Jude. If they cannot help they can point you in the right direction.

Arnold Palmer specializes in children's cardiac.

I would contact Shriner's Hospital at 1-800-237-5055 if in the US. I am 30 years old and I had aortic stenosis at age 4 and nearly died. My parents had no insurance and Shriner's paid for everything. The American Heart Association would not help my parents out with one cent. They spend their money distributing literature. To this day, the only organization my dad will donate money to is the Shriner's. I had a cousin who bit into a light cord when a baby and it scarred the side of her mouth. They even operated to repair that prior to her turning 18. Do not hesitate and give them a call. They will help you. Everyone else... remember this when you make a donation.

Reading your question I feel deeply for you and I am so glad I live in Australia where our medical system does look after people and those in need have a chance to get that care free of charge. I am happy to pay taxes to help those in need. I have a two year old the was born with pulmonary artresia and he has had two major heart surgeries with more to come. I have private health cover for my children but they would have had the same wonderful care from the Royal Children's Hospital if he had gone in as a public patient. I really wish you all the best with your little girl and hope that you can find the help you need as she deserves to have the long life you wish for her. Thinking of you.
