Heart murmur vs heart rate?

I have a heart murmur caused by heart surgery as a child. Does my heart murmur affect my maximus heart rate?

It depends what kind of surgery you had (was it repair of a hole between heart chambers or valvular surgery or something more complicated). If surgery went well and it's just a flow murmur, no, it really shouldn't affect your heart rate. Maximum heart rate that you can achieve depends on your age, gender, any medications you may take that affect heart rate and any other medical problems that you have that might complicate cardiac function. Heart rate is also a function of how well your ventricle pumps.

Generally yes, and I know, I am scheduled for heart valve replacement in two weeks and have lived with a heart murmur for several years. I am in the medical profession and I have learned that the murmurs are caused by improperly working valves; the aortic, mitral, or both. The subsequent regurgitation causes the heart to work harder at all times which affects the heart rate. My heart rate has been running 110 at total rest here lately, like even when I first wake up in the mornings. The best test to visualize the progression of the problem is having an echocardiogram.
