Heart murmur...? |
When I was 7 months old, I had this defect, so I had it repaired. And now, every year, at least once I have to go back to the hospital for a check up. On June 7th, I went and the doctors said I had a slight murmur, and that it wasn't serious, "nothing serious" he said. No restrictions, said the other doctor. Since they assured me, now I don't really have to worry right? Lets hope they are right. 2 people in my family have heart murmurs and the doc said for them not to worry, that lots of people had them. Murmurs came in different degrees and theirs were mild. Sounds like yours is too. So live on and have fun. If you ever sense anything seems off just go back to the doc and see if anything has changed. Both of the people in my family are in their 60's now. No you probably don't have to worry. you might worry yourself to death definetly not, you should listen to your doctors, worrying about it could actuallly make you sick in other ways, youll be fine!! Nope nothing to worry about, live your life to the fullest ok! Me too, no worries. As you get older it most likely will straiten itself out, mine did. a heart murmur isn't uncommon. and if this is your regular doctor I'm sure he would have told you if there was reason for concern. but, If you are really worried ask for a second opinion. its better to be safe than sorry. "Functional heart murmers" are harmless. the technology is so good anymore they can detect very minor murmurs. i didnt know i had a a murmur until i had an echo done last year, its very minimal and i was told that its almost unusual for a person not to have a murmur detected in an echo. so if they arent concerned, you probably dont need to be concerned for now either. |
