Heart murmur and chest pains? |
i'm 15 and i have a heart murmur. last year they doctor said it was only a grade 1or 2. so its not severe. but i get chest pains sometimes and it makes me nauseous and dizzy. and i cant breathe very well either. the pain goes away after 5 min or so and usually happen when im laying down. are they related? A heart murmur is caused by blood flowing irregularly in the heart. Almost everyone has a slight murmur, as the nature of valves lets some blood leak by. However, murmurs can be underestimated sometimes, and if you are showing symptoms of a serious condition you should visit a cardiologist. An echocardiogram would show what is causing the murmur, and would give the doctor visual and doppler evidence of the problem. Chest pain can be caused by many different things, and your pain and your murmur are not necessarily related, though they could be. Your nausea and dizziness could also be symptoms of anxiety after you begin to think about the chest pain. Either way, better safe than sorry. I'd see a cardiologist. Most likely. Your guardians need to take you to a Cardiologist on a regular basis. Hard to tell but if you've seen a doctor have your parents take you back if you are concerned. See if perhaps they could put you on inderal to help steady your beat. Maybe they are related. See a doctor ASAP if you have chest pain. |
