Question about heart murmur?

I was wondering if you could develop a heart murmur at some point in your life. Then to wake up one day and out of no where the heart murmur is gone and you have no heart murmur anymore?

Short answer is yes. Some people have a Still's/innocent murmur as a child & it usually disappears by adulthood. Well conditioned atheletes can also have it, it's just due to increased venous return. There are other murmurs that could be caused by some acute condition or trauma & when the underlying problem is fixed the murmur will stop also.

A heart murmur is an extra or unusual sound heard during your heartbeat. Murmurs range from very faint to very loud and sometimes sound like a whooshing or swishing noise. Normal heartbeat sounds鈥?quot;lub-DUPP" or "lub-DUB"鈥攁re the valves closing as blood moves through the heart.

D has the right answer except that my Doctor told me that mine was brought on by stress. I was getting my divorce from my first wife when mine became so pronounced that I could hear it when I laid down to sleep at night. As I got over the stress it went some what away. Have always had it since childhood and will die with it one day. It never fully goes away.
