Could a Heart Murmur slow down your energy?

I have a mitral valve prolapse and I was wondering if that could slow down your energy. Because when I ever do something even just doing laundry my heart sometime beets fast or i'm out of breath. Does that have something to with the Heart Murmur or should I just go to the doctors and have it checked out?

Yes definitely get this checked!
If you loose energy easily, you will loose shape and bad things can happen.
Only the doctor will tell you for sure.

You should definitely get this evaluated. While it may be nothing, your symptoms could also be a sign of a serious problem. You may need a stress test and/or an echo-cardiogram.

The heart "murmur" is just the noise made by the blood leaking back through the closed valve. Its what the doctor hears through his stethoscope.
The blood that did "leak back" carried with it fresh oxygen that should have gone out into your body, but did not because of the leak. So, yes, if you have a leaking valve, then you body does not get enough "refreshed blood" to keep it operating at optimal levels. The result is that you get tired and out of breath-and your heart may speed up.
By all means-if you have not seen your doctor lately and this development is new or increased-make an appointment. If you are over wieght-loose it!!!
I had my aortic valve replaced in '98. My mitral valve is leaking a little and I recently got a pacemaker.
My biggest symptoms have always been loss of energy.
