Question about a heart murmur?

my brother has a heart murmur and is experiencing some symptoms right now...is there anything he can do in order to calm himself down and ease the palpitations?

Palpitations have nothing to do with a heart murmur. If the palpitations are bothering him a lot he can go see a doc in urgent care. Otherwise he doesn't need to to do anything as they should go away on their own. The heart murmur though as I already stated is not connected to the heart palpitations.

tell him to take slow breaths
make sure that he doesn't consume anything with caffine in it
(it makes it worse) and make sure that he calms down
whether it's by slow breathing, listening to some nice relaxing music, or whatever it is that he likes.....he needs to relax

First of all palpitations can sometime cause heart murmurs. So you need to figure out what is causing those palpitations (if they have an organic cause) and whether they are the reason behind the murmur.

There is a wide differential diagnoses for both murmurs and palpitations, so i cant help you on that, sorry.

Hyperthyroidism is one of the possibilities explain some of his symptoms (anxiety, palpitations, and murmur) but as i said before there is a wide differential. So he should see a doctor.
