Does anyone know if a heart murmur can cause pain? |
I just found out i have a heart murmur. The doctor said it's nothing to worry about because of where it is. But in my ribs on the left side hurts sometimes. must be an innocent murmur then ,normally they dont hurt ,but if u feel heart racing (palpitations)u should consult with your cardiologist idk They normally don't cause pain. Depending on the type and severity of the murmur you may be aware of a forceful heart beat in your neck, shortness of breath or lightheadedness. Rarely severe murmurs that originate in the aortic valve may be associated with chest pain. They can do this by causing a relative decrease in the blood flowing to the muscle part of the heart--but only when the murmur is very severe. |
