I think I have Heart failure, Should I go 2 the doctor?

I have chest pains on & off, or sometimes during nights the chest pains will occur and I can't go to sleep. During rough exercise like running and high impact aerobics the chest pains will worsen and as I am breathing heavily, I feel as if I'm breathing blood/tasting blood. I exercise for a hour 5 days a week and eat sensible, I don't know what wrong with me. I am so scared of going to the doctor b/c america's health care is bad. I'm 17 yrs old and I have a pre-paid child health plus insurance which doesn't really cover everything. So when I do turn 18, I will have to find new insurance, if the insurance company sees that I have a possibilty of heart failure or any kind of disease they will deny me. Any1 who watched Sicko would understand, I have a life ahead of me but I can't be dealing with hostipal/doctor bills when I get 2 college without no health insurance. Which means no doctor visit for me!!!

Also when I was 14 to 16 years old I had bulimia/anorexia

Hey, if you're of young age, not overweight/obese, non-smoker and you've been previously fit and well until now, no childhood heart trouble then the liklihood of you having heart failure is slim to none.

you could have asthma or a chest infection- both easily treated. You might have gastric reflux which is also treatable.

Either way, whatever you have, you need to go to a doctor. If it's fine it's all fine right? And if it isnt, well you're gonna need to be treated arent you.

yes u should go to the doctors

U defiantly need 2 go 2 the doc dear. God Bless You! =)

That doesnt sound like heart failure.
Try WedMD symptom checker, what you have sounds serious tho, you shouldnt be able to taste blood and the chest pains shouldnt be severe.

Your too young to get heart attacks and strokes, unless your overweight and have a very high blood pressure.

You definitely don't have heart failure or you wouldn't be exercising like you do. It might be wise to walk instead of run.

Try taking ibuprophen at night.

All chest pain should be investigasted in the Emergency Dept. Are you describing angina? (very serious) - watch out for sudden death too!!

lets be blunt,if you have a heart condition, or acid reflux, or bring this on from worry.you are 17yrs old, do you have a history of heart problem in your family?
what ever it may be go to a doctor.if its something major
you don't have it checked and drop dead t wont cost you anything.
if you are planning to go o college you must not be too dumb.
go to a doctor...

From your description, your exercise could be causing your chest pain. Without being diagnosed with heart disease or having a heart attack, you do not have heart failure. I would be taking ibuprofen on a regular basis for the next 2 weeks, cut back on any exercise involving your arms and go to WebMd and look at costochondritis which is an inflammation of the muscles in your chest. I believe you can clear this up yourself. If it doesn't, then consider seeing a doctor.
