Conjunctive heart failure.?

Please, no jokes. I am 57 years old and in the first stages of conjunctive heart failure. My feet are swollen and when I lay down at night my lungs make gurgling noise. How long do I have to live, if I do what the doctor tell me?

What you are talking about is congestive heart failure. It means your heart does not pump properly and does not reduce the fluids in your body so it builds up in your limbs and lungs, then later around your heart.
You can live many years with CHF (congestive heart failure) as long as you are treated by a physician with medication and watch your diet. That includes reducing your salt intake.

Congestive heart failure can be managed with medication. If it is being treated properly, your ankles wouldn't be swollen and you wouldn't be gurgly. See a cardiologist ASAP; they can help you more than a GP.

First of all, it is called congestive heart failure. This means your heart is not pumping as effective as it used to for your body. The blood backs up into your lungs through blood vessels and congests your lungs as well as backing fluids up into your legs. You need to be on treatment! You can have medication that will help pull the congestion from your lungs and make you urinate it out. It will help your shortness of breath. As far as how long you have to live, I cannot be the judge. It depends on how many other problems you have.
