Who else out there is dying of congestive heart failure?

i thought it was was t2 diabetes that was causing all the the problems. was i stupid or was it my doctors who attributed the water retention and swelling and coughing to diabetes. you know what? dumb *** doctors will kill you andthey just don't give a damn. they just stare attheir rollex and roll their eyes when you ask. just found out i am likely to die of this congestive heart failure before long (had 4way two years ago). little feedback. urged to exercise. but i get weak and fall out when i exercise. they just misdiagnosed me from the the beginning and it s a little too late to do the right thing now. anybody?

You just found out you have CHF and it sounds like you are giving up. Well, identifying the problem is a major move forward. You can get better- at one time I had an EF of 12% and I'm running at 22%. Yes, I'm restricted but I feel infinitely better than I did.

The basics:
You need to go to a no sodium diet and restrict your fluids. This will make a huge difference in the swelling and difficulty breathing and how you feel.

If you are taking a diuretic, lay down after you take it. This increases blood flow through the kidneys and they work better. Take it easy on the fluids. Wear compression stockings and elevate your legs. This will help reduce the swelling and load on your heart. Yes, you will be thirsty for a while but you can put a piece of ice in your mouth and it helps.

Exercise, do what you can but do not run yourself out of breath. If it is difficult to talk you are doing too much. Do it every day, multiple times a day - this will also reduce swelling.

If you are heavy, loose some weight.

Ask your doctor about a CHF clinic or Cardiac rehab. I did the rehab and it was priceless.

Medication: See Link.

You must get your depression under control. Granted finding out you have CHF is bad but it can be controlled. Give yourself a chance. Take an anti depressant if you have to. Join a support group.

Good luck.
