Can congestive heart failure just start and then go away within a few weeks?

the dr. told me i was probably in failure but then it must have went away cause it didnt show up on the test.

the symptoms can come and go. but i think that once you are diagnosed with it, you are always at more risk. so you have to watch for signs like chest pain, chest heaviness, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, swelling in any part of your body, especially your feet, weight gain. if you have symptoms like these, call your dr so he can give you proper treatment before it gets worse and sends you back into failure. also ask him for a diet plan that will help you avoid symptoms.

If the dr. didn't do a test in the first place then you were probably not in failure, unless the dr. put you on diuretics and it improved the CHF over the time until your next visit.

Get a referral for a cardiologist. There are treadmill tests you can take to check out your heart function. I wouldn't mess around with this. Seriously.

I was diagnosed about 8 years ago or so with cardiomyopathy (congestive heart condition because I had uncontrolled high blood pressure for a long time), was put on Coreg for a year (ask your doc about it), and blood pressure medicine & a deuretic. Since then I've just been doing fine. Just been taking my blood pressure & deuretic medicine and doing fine here. Did the doctor tell you what your injection/fraction was (your hearts intake & output of blood flow). Just keep having regular checkups (I go in for regular checkup with my gp every 3 months)to be sure everything is okay and tell your doctor if doesn't seem normal for you and you should be fine.
