Do most people with heart defects get tired easily?

How long can they usually walk before getting too tired? Also how could excessive running (over 2/3 kms) harm them?

Do the majority of these people sometimes need a disabled stroller or wheelchair? I used to know someone who had this type of problem and had to use a disabled stroller when walking long distances as they got tired quickly and easily.

I have cardiomyopathy and lead a normal life, yes you can get more tired than a healthier person.

I don't run, walking is just as good for exercise

The exercise tolerance of an individual with cardiac defect is directly comparable to the significance of the defect.

Mitral valve stenosis is a mild -but quite common - defect that may have no or very little effect on exercise capabilities.

Right sided heart failure (also know as congestive cardiac failure or cor pulmonale) is common in elderly as the heart tires significantly with age. The symptoms are progressive and exercise tolerance reduces gradually until breathlessness occurs at rest. There is fluid retention as a result and weight gain making exercise even more of an effort.
