Asking for help for a 2 week old baby, who just had open heart surgery? |
I have a very good friend who has just given birth to twins. She and the father are really having a hard time. One of the twins was born perfectly fine and the other was born with a heart defect. He has already undergone his first major surgery ,with many more to follow. I am trying to find some way to come up with ideas to help them in their time of need.We are trying to get together a benefit ,yard sale, bake sale ,anything that we can to help them. If anyone has any ideas please send a responce. Thank You! I want to thank everyone who took time to comment.God Bless you! You are in the right track and really being a good friend. I have seen stores have jars with a flyer that explains what the funds are for, I have also seen news reports in TV, Internet, radio, etc. in which they give out an account number where to deposit funds for the family. You might what to talk to news/radio stations and I have faith that you will find someone to help you. God always puts a helping hand in your way. I hope all goes well with your friend's baby. I don't know the area you live, but where I live, lots of people will put something like what you wrote and tape it to jars and put in the neighborhood stores and such. Keep being a good friend, that is needed as much as anything else. My prayers are with the family. I guess it depends on how close you are to this couple. Go to your local paper and ask them to do a story on the situation. There are so many good and caring people - many offers of help will follow. Also, local churches will be very open to helping this family. Good luck to them and bless you for helping. You're ideas are good. The only help I can offer is my prayers. What a wonderful friend you are :) What kind of defect? I had 3 open heart surgeries when I was a kid. I'm 22 now. Maybe, if it's similar to mine, it might help them to talk to someone who is where their baby will be. Sometimes it's the fear of the unknown that's the worst. If they're worried about her quality of life, and she's had my kind of surgery, it might ease their mind to know she can be healthy and normal |
