I have a congenital heart defect should I be trying to have sex at 60 yrs old? Bi-Valve aortal valve.? You should just have regular echo cardiograms to monitor the health of your heart. Some people with a bicuspid aortic valve get narrowing. The narrowing will cause shortness of breath or chest pain with activity. If you don't have that problem than there are no limitations and sex is just fine. Have fun! ok, ummm... I just can't imagine 60 year olds haveing sex, that's all... I don't know if it is bad... only if shes on top you want to wait till you are 60 ..to have sex....hunnnnnn...well if you can wait that long......go ahead..... You should have sex at any age if you can get it. Think of it as a cardio-vascular workout --- and if it kills you at least you die happy!!! Honey, I think you should ask your cardiologist, not other users at Yahoo! Answers. Ask your Dr. Congenital heart disease relates to the heart defects present at the time of birth. You are aged 60. From your question, it is understood that you have got insuffiency of bicuspid and aortal valves, which is not congenital, but acquired. Sex activity requires a lot of stamina and it will increase your heart rate and blood pressure. So it may affect your heart if proper precautions are not taken. Consult your doctor. What is your experience? If you feel tired, your lungs like bellows you should avoid it. But if you are normal and feeling pleasant after sex you need it. You should keep at least a weeks' distance between two ints. Ask your cardiologist if you are strong enough for sexual activity and any other kind of exercise. If you were just diagnosed and were sick, you are required to rest up and regain strength before doing any activity, including driving. From your last visit to Cardiologist, you must have known or should know about the compensation of your heart due to this Bicuspid Aortic valve. If practically, you've no compensation of the Heart, then go ahead & shoot ;-) Blueberry H has it right. As you know a bi-valve aortic valve is not acquired but something you are either born with or not. Further you don't say that there is insufficiency so I am assuming there is none. |
