Has any one had the procedure done for a birth defect in the heart? |
Im 18 and just recently found out that i have a birth defect in my heart. I went to the heart specialist a couple of days ago and he told me about a procedure they can do where they go through my leg and neck and into my heart to fix the problem with some heat electrical currents. I didnt really understand it i was really stressed and trying to listen.. BUt has anyone had this done or know anything about it?/ if so.. does it hurt? and is it something worth doing.. its either surgery or medicine the rest of my life and not knowing when my heart is gonna start racing again.. They're talking about an ablasion, where they do a catherization and burn a few pathways in your heart. I've had a cardiac cath before, several times actually. But never an ablasion. Yh the leg thing is called a cathita (dont no how to spell it) i have had 7 of these they hurt a little afterwards. It feels like a brick is on your leg because of the pressure they have to apply after the op. (its more of the grind then the leg) Yeah, I had about 3 or 4 catherizations in my groin but not involving heat electrical currents. But Im sure you will be fine after. |
